I'm not saying I tcl every time something gets slightly inconvenient. Another time was when a river's current washed me into an inescapeable hollow, and some mudcrab on the shore engaged me so I couldn't fast travel out of it, but it was out of sight so I couldn't shoot it. Aligning those beams was that frustrating. If I didn't have tcl or coc to get loose of that trap, I'd have quit the damn game. Can't fast travel out because it's indoors, and my last save was the autosave on entering the area, before tuning the crystal. I'd spent forty-five effing minutes aligning those things, then while walking down the ramp to leave I fell off one side and was utterly stuck. One of the times I used tcl was after aligning those crystals in the ES quest. And what constitutes cheating is up to you. It's also great for finding lost followers and raising important quest-people who have somehow managed to die. I have also, on occasion, used it to buff smithing to achieve ebony- or glass-like stats on iron or hide armor for the looks but still be competitive at an endgame level. I've only used it to monkey with perks once (I took the zoom perk in archery and ended up hating it, but didn't realize this until some hours later and had no recent save before taking it). Freeing the camera is handy for checking out your character from all angles when in combat mode. Other more occasional uses: I've gotten stuck a couple times and had to change clipping to get free. I use it to load alternative starting gear and coc to other locations if I want to play a homemade alternative beginning or have a particular look I want to have throughout. With a new char I sometimes change the scale if I have a particular vision for their size. I freely change hairstyles and facepaint. I use 'save qqq' to get me out of the game in under a second with a save name I can actually interpret. Not for cheating, but for stuff that should, by all rights, be part of any kind of sane menu system.
